Border Police: Almost 90k people entered Romania on Tuesday, 11,500 of them Ukrainians

The General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPR) informs that, on Tuesday, 89,321 people entered Romania through the border crossing points, of whom 11,476 were Ukrainian citizens, told Agerpres.

According to a press release received on Wednesday by AGERPRES, approximately 210,400 people went through the border crossing points nationwide, Romanian and foreign citizens, with approximately 54,700 means of transport, both on their way in and on their way out.

As of February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict period), 6,018,853 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.

Given their areas of operation, the crossing points and the "green border," the police found 50 illegal acts (23 offences and 27 misdemeanors) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, applying fines worth RON 44,200.

Assets worth approximately RON 45,000 were also seized for confiscation.

On Tuesday, 19 foreign citizens who did not meet the conditions provided for by law were not allowed to enter the country and nine Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.
