Searches to find drug suppliers to private parties, in Bucharest and sea coast

Anti-drug officers are carrying out, on Thursday, 11 house searches in Bucharest, in two cases concerning drug suppliers at private parties attended by teenagers from families with significant material possibilities, told Agerpres.

"On September 14, police officers of the Bucharest Organised Crime Squad - Antidrug Service, together with Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) prosecutors - Central Structure, carried out 11 house searches in Bucharest in two criminal cases, for the investigation of drug trafficking offences, providing a home for illicit drug use, and offences against the administration of justice," informs a press release of the Inspectorate General of the Romanian Police (IGPR).

" Hydra Operation," carried out on Thursday morning, targets teenagers from families with significant material possibilities, who have been operating in Bucharest, as well as in resorts on the Black Sea coast, during the summer season.

According to the investigators, these people are specialised in the distribution of cannabis, ecstasy tablets, MDMA, cocaine and other synthetic drugs in various locations, restaurants and luxury clubs, most of the clients of the drugs sold by them being constant users, people with a high financial potential.

The individuals allegedly supplied various risk and high-risk dru gs at private parties held in various private locations in Bucharest, which were also attended by people with high financial potential.

They would have procured the drugs in different ways, either through dealers or online orders.

The police will execute three arrest warrants, as well as several summonses, and the persons in question will be taken to the DIICOT - Central Structure for hearings and legal measures.

Special support was provided by the Special Operations Directorate of the Romanian Police.

Gendarmes from the Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie participate in the activities.
