More than 100 persons investigated in organized crime related files in the first half of September

In the first half of September, the police officers from the organized crime departments carried out 134 home searches and investigated over 100 people, informs the Romanian Police.

"Between September 1 and 14 this year, the police officers from the organized crime departments, together with the DIICOT [Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism - editor's note] prosecutors, carried out 32 operations (of which 19 were large-scale), to dismantle criminal groups specialized in human trafficking, computer crime, illicit drug trafficking and consumption and money laundering. Thus, 134 home searches and 2 red-handed arrests were carried out, as well as investigations to prove the criminal activity of 102 people. There were also issued 57 orders of detention and 49 preventive arrest warrants. Also, the measure of judicial control was taken against 5 people," reads a press release sent to AGERPRES on Saturday by the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.

According to the same source, as a result of this activities, approximately 18.5 kilogrammes of cannabis, 121 grams of cocaine, 31 kilograms of synthetic drugs, 103 grams of other psychoactive substances, 13 doses of various psychoactive substances, such as and 65 kilograms of vegetable matter.

"19 grinders, 6 precision scales, 106 tablets, a cannabis crop, 19 cannabis plants, 4 white weapons, 93 mobile phones, 22 sims, 8 laptops, 7 storage media, 70,857 of lei, 18,885 euros, 400 USD, 384 pounds, as well as 1,500 euros, which show signs of counterfeiting," states the IGPR.

Alongside the policemen from the organized crime departments, the fighters of the Special Interventions and Actions Service, policemen from the county police inspectorates, as well as gendarmes participated.
