Ministry of Defence: Romania is sending a second tranche of its humanitarian aid to Lybia by two aircraft

Two C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Romanian Air Force took off, on Monday, from the Air Transport Base 90 "Comandor aviator Gheorghe Banciulescu," heading to Benghazi, Libya, where they are transporting the second tranche of the humanitarian aid that Romania is sending as free international assistance to this country, affected by catastrophic floods, told Agerpres.

According to a press release of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN), the Air Force has planned six flights on this route, in which a total of 55 tonnes of goods will be transported, consisting of food products and shelter items.

The flights are taking place under the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union, at the request of the Department for Emergency Situations, based on the Decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations no. 32 of 2023.
