Police searches 13 homes of suspected drug dealers in Arad County
Police officers from the Arad Organized Crime Department and DIICOT (Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism) prosecutors conducted searches in 13 home, on Tuesday, of members of a group of high-risk and high-risk drug traffickers, with the suspects to be brought up for questioning, told Agerpres.
"From the investigations it emerged that, between June and September 2023, in the Arad County, a criminal group was created specialized in procuring, possessing and selling to consumers in this county, dangerous drugs (cannabis) and of high risk, 3-CMC (crystal), as well as substances likely to produce psychoactive effects. The members of the group would have obtained substantial material benefits from the criminal activity," the Arad County Police Inspectorate reports.
At the headquarters of DIICOT Arad, 13 people "about whom there are data and solid indications that they are involved in the commission of crimes," will be heard.
DIICOT prosecutors and the Romanian Police, with the support of the Gendarmerie, carried out on Tuesday morning more than 50 operations as part of a large-scale operation to dismantle some criminal groups of drug trafficking, human and minor trafficking, exploitation of vulnerable people, child pornography and computer crime.
According to DIICOT, during this operation, more than 260 home search warrants and 250 arrest warrants will be carried out.
