Louise Mushikiwabo, secretary general of Francophonie, was decorated with the National Order Star of Romania in the rank of Grand Cross.
President Klaus Iohannis signed the decoration decree on Monday, agerpres reports.
The head of state awarded the secretary general of the Francophonie the National Order Star of Romania in the rank of Grand Cross, on the occasion of the anniversary of 30 years of membership in the institutional Francophonie, as a sign of "high appreciation for the constant collaboration with Romanian officials, highlighting the substantial contribution of our country in promoting the values and principles of the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF)".
Louise Mushikiwabo was received by president Klaus Iohannis at the Cotroceni Palace and participated in the inauguration of the House of Francophonie.
