A number of 115 Romanian citizens were brought home from Israel by a private airline, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informed on Sunday evening.

"Considering the deterioration of the security situation in the State of Israel and the Gaza Strip, the MAE informs that the Crisis Cell operating at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv and Romania's Representative Office in Ramallah, continued with the efforts to identify other possibilities for the repatriation of the Romanian citizens and groups of Romanian pilgrims from the area. In this context, the MAE specifies that a number of 115 Romanian citizens identified by the Crisis Cell or by the Romanian Embassy at Tel Aviv returned to the country on October 8, 2023, on board of a flight operated by a private airline," the same source said.

Also, the MAE reiterates the recommendation addressed to the Romanian citizens who intend to travel to the State of Israel to reschedule their trip and follow the "Travel Alerts" section on the MAE website (https://www.mae.ro/travel-alerts /2938).

Romanian citizens in Israel can contact the Embassy of Romania in Tel Aviv and announce their presence in the region, communicating their identification data and their coordinates to the e-mail address telaviv@mae.ro and to the telephone line of the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv: +972 54 5643279, as well as that of the Consulate General in Haifa: +972 543 998 038, to be contacted.
