The British ambassador to Bucharest, Andrew Noble, received, on Monday, the Emblem of Honor of the Romanian Army, from Minister Angel Tilvar, the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) informs.

The meeting between the two officials took place in the context of the conclusion of the mission of the British official in our country. The distinction was offered to the diplomat "in recognition of his merits and for the support given to the MApN activities", agerpres reports.

"All the recent events have proven that Romania and Great Britain have similar views on the challenges they face and we will make the necessary efforts to continue developing the bilateral relationship. It is obvious that only together we can face the multiple crises we are confronted with," the Romanian minister declared.

The discussions focused on the security situation in the Black Sea area in the context of the latest developments in Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine, ways to strengthen the Romanian-British bilateral relationship, but also on the expansion of cooperation between the two armies, especially in the context of the development of the military industry, defense and endowment programs of the Romanian Army.

Great Britain's contribution to the consolidation of the allied posture on the Eastern Flank was also appreciated, a concrete proof of allied solidarity and unity. Great Britain will continue contributing to the NATO Consolidated Air Police (eAP) missions in Romania, a new contingent being scheduled to be deployed in our country in 2024.

The British ambassador congratulated Romania for its role as a factor of regional stability and for providing with troops to the missions in the Western Balkans and Africa.
