The president of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, met on Tuesday with the chairman of the European Court of Auditors (ECA), Tony Murphy, who is visiting our country

According to a post on the Facebook page of the president of the Senate, the topics discussed during the meeting concerned the reforms undertaken by Romania through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the fiscal policy of the European Union and Romania's efforts in the current context of the security crisis in the region, agerpres reports.

"I told to the European official that the Eastern states need greater flexibility from the European Commission in the discussions about NRRP. Romania is making considerable efforts to achieve the assumed objectives, but in Brussels it must be understood that these targets have been fixed in a radically different international context. From the point of view of the authorities in Bucharest, it is necessary to adapt to the problems given by the current challenges and to a more efficient European mechanism to support the member states," Nicolae Ciuca said.

The chairman of the European Court of Auditors, Tony Murphy, is in our country together with a delegation that also includes Viorel Stefan, a Romanian member of the ECA.
