Government: Romania to send foodstuffs and bed items to Gaza Strip
Romania will send free international assistance to the Gaza Strip, consisting of foodstuffs and bed items, the Government announces.
According to a press release sent by the Government, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, at the proposal of the Department for Emergency Situations, convened on Thursday, in a hybrid system, the National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU).
"Through the newly adopted decision, international assistance is granted, free of charge, for the affected civilian population in the Gaza Strip, which consists of food products and bed items, made available by the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Issues. The transport of the products will take place with the support of the Ministry of National Defense, by air, through the European humanitarian assistance, respectively of the international organizations involved", states the quoted source.
According to the annex to CNSU Decision 38/19.10.2023, Romania will send to the Gaza Strip 30 tons of canned vegetables, 10 tons of sunflower oil, 20 tons of sugar, 10 tons of rice, 20 tons of flour, 20 tons of mineral water, 500 tents, 2,000 beds, 2,000 mattresses, 2,000 blankets, 4,000 bedsheets, 2,000 pillows, 4,000 pillowcases, 2,000 sleeping bags.
