Rafah border crossing, open to allow only humanitarian aid trucks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs that, according to the information received from the field, the border point at Rafah, between the Gaza Strip and the Republic of Egypt, was opened on Saturday, to allow only the access of trucks carrying humanitarian aid.

"Continuing the information sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the context of the security situation in the State of Israel and the Gaza Strip, we specify that, during this day, according to the information received from the field, the border point at Rafah, between the Gaza Strip and the Republic of Egypt, opened to allow access only to trucks carrying humanitarian aid. It is about humanitarian aid provided by the United Nations and announced on Friday by the secretary general of the organization, Antonio Gutierrez," it is shown in a statement sent to AGERPRES.

According to the cited source, the Crisis Cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains coordination with other states and international organizations that undertake similar measures for their own citizens/officials.

"The MFA, through the diplomatic missions in Cairo and Tel Aviv, continues the dialogue with the Israeli and Egyptian authorities in order to ensure the necessary conditions for the evacuation of the Romanian citizens from the Gaza Strip who requested this near the Romanian Representation Office in Ramallah", underline the cited source.
