The National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Publicity (ANCPI) has so far opened more than 7.5 million new land registers free of charge for citizens through the programmes carried out, informs Agerpres.

According to an ANCPI press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday, more than 1.8 million land registers have been issued free of charge to citizens with European funds.

ANCPI is drawing up documents required for property registration in the integrated cadastre and land register system on more than 6.6 million hectares in 2,072 administrative-territorial units (UATs).

Financing is provided from ANCPI's own revenues, through the National Cadastre and Land Registry Programme (PNCCF), from non-reimbursable European funds, but also from the budgets of the municipalities. Land registers are issued free of charge to citizens.

ANCPI has finalised the systematic registration of real estate at the level of the entire locality in 266 administrative-territorial units out of a total of 3,181 such entities, as well as in over 27,800 cadastral sectors, with an area of over 5.9 million hectares.

At the same time, 141 municipalities were included in the land register with European funds, under the project "Increasing the coverage and inclusion of the property registration system in rural areas of Romania", financed by the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020 and continued under the Smart Growth, Digitalisation and Inclusion Programme.

Out of the total of 9.54 million hectares of agricultural land subject to the subsidies of the Agricultural Payment and Intervention Agency, 7.86 million hectares (82%) have been registered in the integrated cadastre and land register system.

ANCPI is the beneficiary of the project "Increasing the coverage and inclusiveness of the land registration system in rural areas of Romania", which complements the objective of the PNCCF, by carrying out systematic registration works for 5,758,314 hectares in 660 UATs in rural areas of Romania, and the total value of the project is 312,891,155 euros.

The project was financed until December 2023 by the Regional Operational Programme and was phased. The second phase of the project is currently funded by the Smart Growth, Digitalisation and Financial Instruments Programme 2021-2027.
