On Monday, the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a Code Yellow alert for snow and strong winds, valid until Tuesday morning in the high areas of 13 counties.
According to meteorologists, between December 20, 10:00 am - December 21, at 10:00 am, at altitudes of over 1,700 metres, it will snow in the Southern and Curvature Carpathians, with a new layer of snow to form, thick in some parts.
The counties targeted by the Code Yellow warning are: Vrancea, Buzau, Prahova, Dambovita, Arges, Valcea, Gorj, Caras-Severin, Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu, Brasov and Covasna.
In these regions, the wind will temporarily intensify, with gusts to exceed 80-90 km/h, blowing the snow. Such phenomena will also be reported in the rest of the mountain area, but at lower intensities.
ANM states that, locally, temporary intensifications of the wind will be reported in the south, centre and east of the country, with gusts of 45 - 50 km/h, in general, Agerpres informs.
