Approximately 43,000 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will maintain public safety and ensure the protection of polling stations on election day, MAI spokesperson Monica Dajbog announced on Saturday.
"On election day, approximately 43,000 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will ensure the investigation of complaints regarding possible electoral incidents, as well as the protection of polling stations and the maintenance of a normal climate of public safety," Dajbog stated, in a press statement held at the MAI headquarters.
According to her, during the electoral campaign, no special incidents were recorded.
"42 possible electoral incidents were reported. Approximately 53% of the reports were related to electoral posters. Four reports, which were not within the competence of the MAI structures, were sent for resolution to the Permanent Electoral Authority and the Central Electoral Bureau," Dajbog said.
