Archbishop of Tomis concelebrates in Jerusalem with Patriarch Theophilos III on the Feast of Theophany

The Feast of the Theophany of Our Lord was solemnly celebrated on Monday, according to the unrevised calendar, within the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. On this occasion, His Eminence Teodosie, Archbishop of Tomis, concelebrated with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem.

"On Sunday, on the eve of the feast, Patriarch Theophilos led a sacred procession to the River Jordan, accompanied by hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, hierarchs from Greece, and His Eminence Archbishop Teodosie, representing the Romanian Patriarchate. From the Jordan, the Romanian priests and pilgrims, guided by Archbishop Teodosie, proceeded to the Romanian Settlement in Jericho, where the service of the Great Sanctification of the Waters was celebrated," Archimandrite Ioan Meiu, Superior of the Romanian Settlements in Jerusalem, Jericho and Jordan, reported, as cited by news site Basilica.ro.

On Monday, the day of Theophany, the Great Blessing of the Waters was celebrated in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The Patriarch of Jerusalem presided, assisted by hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and of the Church of Greece, together with Archbishop Teodosie and numerous Romanian clergy. Following the sanctification, the Divine Liturgy was served in the Holy Sepulchre.On Monday, on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, the service of the Great Blessing of Water was celebrated in the Great Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

On Tuesday, when the Synaxis of the Honourable Glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John is being observed in the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, His Eminence Archbishop Teodosie will celebrate service at the Greek Monastery of Saint John the Baptist on the banks of the Jordan, Basilica.ro also reports.
