The National Bank of Romania's (BNR) foreign exchange reserves stood at EUR 65.347 billion at the end of October 2025, up 0.5% from EUR 65.015 billion on 30 September 2025, the central bank announced in a press release.
According to the same source, during the month there were inflows of EUR 5.516 billion, representing changes in the foreign currency minimum reserves set by credit institutions at the BNR, funding of the Ministry of Finance's accounts (including amounts resulting from eurobond issues by the Ministry of Finance with a net value of approximately EUR 3,000 million), among others.
Outflows totalled EUR 5.184 billion, representing changes in the foreign currency minimum reserves set by credit institutions at the BNR, payments of instalments and interest on public debt denominated in foreign currency (including eurobond maturities amounting to approximately EUR 2,110 million), payments from the European Commission's account, and others.
The level of the gold reserve remained at 103.6 tonnes. Given international price developments, its value stood at EUR 11.538 billion.
Romania's international reserves (foreign currency and gold) amounted to EUR 76.885 billion on 31 October 2025, compared with EUR 75.786 billion on 30 September 2025.
The BNR also stated that payments due in November 2025 in respect of public debt denominated in foreign currency, direct or guaranteed by the Ministry of Finance, amount to approximately EUR 910 million.
