The National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) invites workers on digital platforms operating in Romania to join the European Workers' Union (SLE), a structure dedicated to those who operate through applications, such as Uber, Bolt, Glovo, Wolt, to benefit from representation, support and protection against platforms and authorities.

Moreover, the trade union organization expresses its deep indignation at the incident that occurred on Sunday, June 14, in Arad, where a delivery man, a citizen of Sri Lanka, was physically and verbally assaulted while on duty, in the courtyard of a medical facility.

"Such behaviors are unacceptable and go against the fundamental values of a society that respects work, dignity and human rights. The BNS firmly disapproves of any form of aggression against workers - whether Romanian or foreign - and draws attention to the fact that work must be respected, regardless of the field or contractual form. Unfortunately, these cases are becoming more common, and this deeply concerns us. For all workers in the digital economy (deliveries, drivers, platform collaborators), the NBS offers free legal assistance and support in situations of abuse, harassment or violence. The NBS invites workers on digital platforms operating in Romania to join the European Workers' Union (SLE), a structure dedicated to those who operate through applications such as Uber, Bolt, Glovo, Wolt and others," a statement from the BNS reads.

According to the cited source, those who will join the SLE will thus benefit from representation, support and protection before platforms and authorities, but also from a common voice in the fight for fair and dignified working conditions.
