The "Bucharest City Tour" sightseeing buses will return to routes across the Capital starting on Friday and will operate at weekends, from Friday to Sunday, between 10:00 and 21:00.
Two open-top double-decker buses, each with a capacity of 83 seats, will be in service and their number may be increased to six over the summer, depending on demand, the municipality announced.
The "Bucharest City Tour" route covers 16 km return with 15 stops, passing through Piata Presei - Arcul de Triumf - Piata Victoriei - Piata Romana - Piata Universitatii - Palatul Parlamentului - Piata Unirii.
During the first month, fares will be promotional: 49 lei for adults and 25 lei for children aged between 4 and 14, while children under 4 travel free of charge.
Tickets can be purchased both on board using a card and at STB sales centres and are valid for an entire day.
The two sightseeing buses will run at intervals of 40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Each bus has an onboard attendant who manages access and hands visitors a route map.
In addition, QR codes are placed on the seats, allowing passengers to scan and download an audio guide in four languages - Romanian, English, French and Italian - and listen through headphones to the story of each tourist attraction along the route.
The sightseeing buses were launched in last autumn, but weather conditions allowed them to operate for only 39 days. During that period, they carried 8,300 passengers and generated revenue of 500 million lei.
