Bucharest Mayor Ciprian Ciucu met with Indian ambassador Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, with whom he discussed the possibility of twinning Bucharest with Agra, the city home to the Taj Mahal.
"Mayor Ciprian Ciucu met with His Excellency Dr Manoj Kumar Mohapatra. They discussed the possibility of twinning Bucharest and Agra, the city home to the Taj Mahal. His Excellency pointed out that India wants to be a close partner of our country and that cooperation between the two cities would be welcome," the Bucharest City Hall said on Monday on its Facebook page, agerpres reports.
The Mayor General thanked the ambassador for his interest in the capital city and Romania.
"India has a lot to offer; it is a country that has developed greatly, and we would be honoured to cooperate," Ciprian Ciucu said.
