Bucharest Stock Exchange closes on the rise on Wednesday

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed on the rise on Wednesday, although total trading turnover fell to 80.63 million lei (15.83 million euros), down from 96.46 million lei (18.93 million euros) in the previous session.

The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BET, which tracks the 20 most traded companies listed on the regulated market, rose by 1.68% to 28,246.42 points, while BET-Plus, reflecting the performance of the 43 most liquid stocks on the exchange, closed up 1.63%.

The BET-BK index, a benchmark for investment fund performance, ended the session up 1.03%, while BET-NG, which measures the evolution of the ten energy and utilities companies, saw a gain of 2.43%.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, covering the 25 most liquid shares, rose by 1.65%, while the SIFs index, BET-FI, closed with an increase of 0.94%.

The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies from the AeRO market, fell by 0.18%.

The most liquid shares were those of Banca Transilvania, with trades worth 14.30 million lei, followed by OMV Petrom at 7.35 million lei and Hidroelectrica at 6.76 million lei.

The best-performing stocks were Energopetrol (+14.29%), Hidroelectrica (+7.58%), and Rompetrol Rafinare (+6.71%).

The largest declines were recorded by Electrocontact (-6.54%), Armatura (-5.03%), and AETA (-4.35%).
