Six counties in the south and southeast of the country and Bucharest municipality will be under a Code Orange warning of heat and increased thermal discomfort on Wednesday, the National Meteorological Administration informs.
Maximum temperatures of 37-39 degrees Celsius will be recorded in the warned areas, namely Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi, Ialomita, Braila, Ilfov counties and Bucharest. The thermal discomfort will be accentuated, and the temperature-humidity index will be above the critical threshold of 80 units, agerpres reports.
Weather forecasters warn that locally will occur accentuated atmospheric instability in the northern half of the territory and in small areas in the rest. On the other hand, the heat wave will intensify again towards the end of the week.
In Bucharest, the sky will be variable, with clouds temporarily accentuated especially in the evening and night of Wednesday, when the probability for short-term intensifications of wind, storms, electrical discharges and showers will increase, the Weather watchdog adds.
