Cuvee de Purcari White Brut sparkling wine won the gold medal, being included in the top 10 best sparkling wines in the world, in the most important sparkling wine competition - Effervescents du Monde 2021, the company informs.
The competition took place between November 30 and December 3, 2021 in Burgundy, France. At the 2021 edition, about 500 sparkling wines from over 20 countries competed. The samples were judged by an international panel of 80 experts.
"Three Purcari sparkling wines won gold medals: Cuvée de Purcari White Brut (Top 10 Best Sparkling Wines from Effervescents du Monde); Grande Cuvee de Purcari White Extra Brut 2016; Grande Cuvee de Purcari White Extra Brut 2017," reads the press release.
Cuvee de Purcari White Brut is a sparkling wine made according to the classic production method, "champenoise", namely second fermentation and maturation in bottles, for 18 months. The sparkling wines from Purcari are produced in collaboration with the French oenologist Jerome Barret.
Purcari Cuvee White has a light yellow color, citrus aromas and peach flavor. The highest rated sparkling wines in the top 10 Best Sparkling Wines, alongside Purcari, were from France, Italy, Spain.

The 19th edition of the competition was organized by the Association "Forum Oenologie" from France at Château de Pierreclos, in the Burgundy wine region, being a unique event in terms of high standards of the entire event and the strict judging methods.
