The flow of the Danube River at the entrance to Romania, the Bazias portion, should be standing at 1,400 cubic metres/sec today, similar to the historical low of 1985, and then it should remain stationary until the first days of next week, according to a forecast of the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA).
According to hydrologists, between August 5 and 12, the forecast value of the flow will be below the multiannual average of August (3,900 cubic metres/sec).
The forecast estimates for the Cernavoda section are indicative, given the potential impact of the ongoing interventions in the area of confluence of the Danube with the Bala arm, which may determine a significant reduction in the drop in levels on that portion, according to Agerpres.
In the same period, downstream of the Iron Gates, the flows of the Danube will generally be slightly decreasing.
According to INHGA, between August 6 and 12, the average daily flows on rivers in Romania will be relatively stationary, but sparce increases in levels and flows are possible on some small watercourses in the hill and mountain areas, as a result of the forecasted rainfall in the form of showers.
