The Romanian Ministry of National Defence (MApN) detected an aerial target 20 kilometres east of Galati overnight from Thursday into Friday. Two F-16 aircraft took off from Borcea Air Base to monitor the situation, but no incursions into national airspace were reported, according to Agerpres.
According to a press release issued by the MApN, the National Military Command Centre notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the measures being taken to alert the population in eastern Galati County and northern Tulcea County. At 3.27 am, a RO-ALERT message was sent.
The air-raid alert ended at 4,14 am.
