Minister of National Defense Ionut Mosteanu met on Thursday with ambassador of the State of Israel to Romania Lior Ben Dor for talks on the current stage of bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, amid the security developments in the region caused by the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine, the National Defense Ministry said in a release.
Minister Mosteanu voiced Romania's openness to new forms of cooperation in areas of shared interest, with an emphasis on technical and military partnerships and investments in the national defense industry.
"Romanian-Israeli defense cooperation has a solid foundation, built on trust and common goals," the minister emphasized, as cited in the release.
At the end of the meeting, the two officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a constant political-military dialogue and to capitalizing on the potential of the various Romanian-Israeli bilateral formats, the Ministry of National Defense said.
