Interim Defence Minister Radu Miruta announced on Monday that the order through which interviews conducted by the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) selection committees will be recorded has been published in the Official Journal, in the interests of transparency and fairness.

"A new approach: the ministerial order by which I decided that interviews conducted by MApN selection committees should be filmed has been published in the Official Journal. Throughout the country, in all units. Why? To eliminate any trace of subjectivity and to put an end once and for all to the approach of the type: 'it does not matter what mark you get in the written test; perhaps, if you are not the person they want, you will fail the interview'," Miruta said in a Facebook post, agerpres reports.

Thus, starting from August 1, selection committees within the Ministry of National Defence will be required to record interviews.

"The modernisation of the Romanian Army does not mean only new equipment, but also new rules. I am convinced that strong institutions are built through transparency and merit, and this is another step in that direction," Miruta emphasised.
