Department for Interethnic Relations, at Gaudeamus Book Fair: Three art albums to be launched

Three art albums, made under the projects and partnerships of the Department for Interethnic Relations (DRI) and printed by the "Official Journal," which celebrates 190 years of existence, will be launched, on Saturday, at the Gaudeamus Book Fair, told Agerpres.

The launches will take place from 1.00 pm, at stand 71 in the Romexpo Exhibition Centre (pavilion B2), the department states in a post on Facebook.

* "Empathy along the Danube" presents the works of 10 contemporary artists belonging to national minorities in Romania and the neighboring countries - Austria, Serbia, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Ukraine, Slovenia - in a single album, part of a larger project, initiated by DRI under the auspices of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (SUERD), a project that also includes a virtual exhibition.

* The album "The illustration of Turks and Tatars in modern Romanian art" will be presented in Bucharest, after the releases in Sighisoara and Constanta. It is a bilingual publication, part of a project carried out by the Department for Interethnic Relations, together with the Institute for the Study of Minority Issues, the Bucharest Municipality Museum, the National Museum of Art of Romania, the Constanta Art Museum and the Tulcea Art Museum within the "Gavrila Simion" Eco-Museum Research Institute.

* The most recent editorial appearance is the album "Images of diversity", materialized within the framework of a several-year partnership of the Department with the "Inter-Art" Foundation Aiud, a project through which visual artists belonging to national minorities and the majority create together, year after year, in creative camps, and later on the result of these workshops is presented in exhibitions and art publications.

The works were printed in a limited edition and are distributed free of charge at various events in which the Department for Interethnic Relations participates.

The launch events of the fair will be attended by the Secretary of State of the Department for Interethnic Relations Lacziko Katalin, the Secretary od State in the Ministry of Culture, Demeter Andras Istvan, presidential adviser Sergiu Nistor, the DRI adviser Oana Ionel, the deputy director of the Bucharest Municipality Museum, Elena Olariu and the president of the "Inter-Art" Foundation Aiud, Stefan Balog.

The Department for Interethnic Relations has organized an ethnic diversity stand at Gaudeamus, dedicated to national minority organizations: the Association of Italians in Romania RO.AS.IT.; Association of Macedonians in Romania; the Community of the Lipovan Russians in Romania; the Federation of the Jewish Communities in Romania; the Union of Armenians of Romania; the Bulgarian Union of Banat - Romania; the Union of Croats of Romania; the Cultural Union of Ruthenians of Romania; the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania; the Democratic Union of Turkish-Muslim Tatars of Romania; the Hellenic Union of Romania; the Pro-Europe Roma Party; the Union of Poles of Romania; the Union of Serbs of Romania and the Union of Ukrainians of Romania.

Literature books, various press publications and works dedicated to the traditions of national minorities, photos and CDs can be purchased from the Diversity Stand.
