Liviu Dragnea, recunoscut oficial premierul de facto al României

Chamber of Deputies Speaker Liviu Dragnea met on Thursday with the head of the Serbian state, Aleksandar Vucic, on an official visit in Bucharest. "I had a very good meeting with Mr. President Aleksandar Vucic, whom I have a great friendship relation with. We tackled some important topics, both for Romania and Serbia, namely the motorway connection between Timisoara and Belgrad, but not only this project, which is important, but smaller than what we discussed last year, specifically a big project connecting Constanta - Bucharest - Belgrade - Slovenia - Croatia - Italy through a motorway and a high-speed train," Liviu Dragnea stated.

"We also talked about solving some small misunderstandings from Portile de Fier, as well as, among other things, but of greater importance, the situation of the Romanian community in Serbia, especially in Timocului Valley, and Mr. President promised a few important things - that the duration of the Romanian TV programmes at local television broadcaster in Bor and on national television will increase and that a process to introduce the Romanian language in the educational system will begin, following that we both make efforts for a meeting between the two churches in Romania and Serbia meet. We have also established to have a meeting in the upcoming period in Belgrade and then in Romania," Liviu Dragnea further said.

"I am profoundly grateful to our friend Liviu Dragnea for his huge interest in creating better relations between Serbia and Romania. Serbia has shown confidence and that it is a reliable partner in these infrastructure projects. We believe we have to connect Timisoara with Belgrade and also Bucharest - Craiova with Serbia. We have also discussed about parliamentary cooperation," President Aleksandar Vucic affirmed. "We are thankful to Romania for supporting Serbia's European integration path. We will do our best to improve the rights of the Romanian community in Serbia and we have discussed about how to materialise this," the Serbian high official underscored.
