Energy company Electrica generated 21,012 MWh of electricity in the first half of 2026, more than 300% above the level recorded in the same period of 2025, according to preliminary data submitted Monday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The company says production includes output from the Vulturu wind farm and the Stanesti and Satu Mare 2 solar parks, the latter becoming operational in Q4 2025, according to Agerpres.
In the first six months of 2026, Electrica distributed 8,905.3 GWh of electricity (down from 8,947.5 GWh in H1 2025) and supplied 3,375.5 GWh on the retail market (3,710.4 GWh in H1 2025). Retail gas supply amounted to 347.8 GWh, compared with 442.6 GWh in January - June 2025.
Electricity used to cover technological consumption totalled 900.5 GWh.
At the end of June, Electrica had 3.228 million consumption points, down from 3.423 million a year earlier.
The Electrica Group serves 4 million users in Romania, covering 18 counties across three distribution regions - North Transylvania, South Transylvania and North Muntenia - and operates nationwide in electricity supply, maintenance and energy services.
Electrica, the holding company of the group, has been listed on the Bucharest and London Stock Exchanges since July 2014 and has a majority-private shareholding.
