The leader of the Coalition for Family (CpF), Mihai Gheorghiu, said on Sunday evening, after the polls closed, that the battle against gender ideology will continue in the future as well because the voice of four million Romanians must be heard.
He accused the generalized boycott from the political class, the media and the citizens' misinformation.
"We were faced with a huge propaganda machine, anti-referendum, pro-boycott, of manipulation and misinforming of this people. We have been dealing with also an unexpected phenomenon, namely the generalized boycott of Romania's political parties against this referendum. Our initiative is not a political one and we have always refused its political hijacking," Gheorghiu said.
The CpF leader drew attention that the political leaders will have to take into consideration the vote of those who expressed their option in this referendum.
"This Christian vote exists, it exists publicly, there is a part of this people, of four million, who was active, responsible and who was able to see past the misinformation campaign and showed up in front of Romanians with this option. It is an important option, that we must take into account, that all the political, constitutional and legislative factors of this country must take into account. You can no longer legislate against such a voice," Mihai Gheorghiu declared.
