Romania's First Lady Carmen Iohannis will play tennis on Sunday after-noon at the Sibiu Open tournament, where she will come to the court with children training at the Pamira Club, the venue of the tournament, Sibiu Open organiser Marius Vecerdea told a news conference on Thursday.
"I have made the proposal that she attends live. We will see Mrs Iohannis probably practicing. She will play tennis with children on Kid's Day on Sunday. She is nervous," said Vecerdea.
Asked by the AGERPRES correspondent whether her husband, President Klaus Iohannis, will be in the stands on Sunday to cheer his wife on, Vecerdea said, 'Quite possibly, yes."
Carmen Iohannis has been a frequent training patron of the private tennis club in the city of Sibiu, which mayor his husband was for 14 years before being elected president of Romania.
An English teacher, Carmen Iohannis has also made another first this year, joining her students in a 5-km charitable race of a marathon to support the purchase of equipment and devices for the preterm birth department of Sibiu's largest public hospital. Back then, she was encouraged by President Iohannis, according to Agerpres.
