Former Moldovan Deputy PM for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan honored with 'For Merit' National Order

President Klaus Iohannis signed on Wednesday the decree awarding Gheorghe Balan, former Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration (2016 - 2018) in the government of the Republic of Moldova, the Presidential Administration announced in a release.

The head of the state awarded the National Order "For Merit" in the rank of Commander to Gheorghe Balan in sign of "high appreciation for his important contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, through initiatives intended to deepen the interconnection of the societies of the two states," the release reads.
