Romanians are planning their purchases increasingly more carefully, and four in ten are looking for and following promotions directly through applications or websites that have digital catalogues, according to the findings of a survey released on Wednesday.
In addition, 39% of respondents browse the digital catalogues available on store platforms, confirming that the digital environment has become the main point of information before buying.
The survey, conducted by iSense Solutions for Shopfully Romania, also shows that most consumers use both printed and digital catalogues. However, digital catalogues are accessed most frequently, which confirms that they are becoming an important channel for communication, loyalty and interaction with customers.
"This behaviour shows that Romanians are increasingly attentive to the way they plan their purchases and manage their budget, and the digital environment becomes the main point of contact between consumers and retailers. Offer aggregation platforms and digital catalogues are not only information tools, but also ways for consumers to compare prices, track discounts and decide where to buy. For retailers, these findings confirm the importance of maintaining an active and up-to-date digital presence, with clear, easy-to-access and personalised offers according to users' interests," according to Catalin Patachia, Shopfully country manager.
The survey shows that Romanians are planning their purchases increasingly more carefully, comparing prices, following discounts and using the online environment to make informed purchasing decisions. Digital thus becomes not only the place where they find offers, but also the space where they decide where, when and what to buy.
At the same time, people aged 35 to 44 prefer digital catalogues, while older audiences are more likely to use physical catalogues. Women are also the ones who most often follow promotions, many of them checking for offers weekly.
