The President of the Young People's Party, Anamaria Gavrila, announced on Tuesday, after consultations at the Cotroceni Palace, that the MPs CAN support a pro-Western, pro-American governing formula.
Anamaria Gavrilă stated that the discussion with President Nicusor Dan was constructive.
"We, the POT parliamentarians, will support a pro-Western, pro-American formula, where we will be the pro-Romanian side. We want projects that are for Romanians, laws that are for Romanians to be included in the governing program," she said, in a press conference held at Cotroceni Palace.
Anamaria Gavrila declared that, in the current crisis, POT behaved "reasonably", understanding that "battles" must be fought one at a time.
"We understood that you can't put on a show when the country needs to be pulled out of the crisis. We will continue to behave like this. We will be the balancing factor, the support factor and we will show that, besides what is seen in Romanian politics - i.e. lack of maturity, circus, scandal - POT can be the party that can help us get out of a crisis situation. We completely dissociate ourselves from the behavior of AUR. We believe that it would have been a much more mature situation to understand that now the battle is with the Bolojan-USR government, which has not yet been removed," declared Gavrila.
