The Government approved on Monday two emergency ordinances, initiated by the Ministry of Finance, which accelerate the uptake of European funds, announced the relevant minister, Alexandru Nazare, in a conference at the end of the Government meeting.
"These are two emergency ordinances that, in practice, accelerate the uptake of European funds, whether it is funds from the NRRP, from loans or grants, or whether it is reimbursable European funds of other types," said the minister, agerpres reports.
According to him, the first ordinance creates the legislative framework through which the Treasury can offer loans worth 10 billion lei to UATs, in order to accelerate projects from the NRRP.
The second ordinance, the minister of finance added, refers to Treasury credits, namely interest-bearing credits for local authorities, for ineligible expenses or for co-financing projects with European funds.
"This money is trapped in the budget. It is about two billion lei, which can practically be operated and from now on the UATs can submit requests for the use of this money.
In total, it is about 12 billion lei, which does not affect the deficit this year, but which accelerates the absorption and accelerates the infusion of money into the economy, which the Romanian economy needs in 2026", the finance minister pointed out.
