The new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dan Neculaescu, issued an initial message following the investiture of the Niculescu Government, indicating that he will focus on implementing the governing program, which includes clear and measurable objectives, and that his attention will be directed first of all toward the security of Romania and its citizens.

"This is my first post here, and I am pleased to share it at a moment of great responsibility: assuming the mandate of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, following a 24-year career within the Foreign Ministry. It is a true honor and, at the same time, a significant test for me. From day one, I am focusing on the implementation of the governing program, with clear and measurable objectives; above all else, my attention will be directed toward the security of Romania and the Romanian people!" he wrote on Facebook, Agerpres reports.

Neculaescu also addressed the importance of the Black Sea.

"You will hear me speak often about the importance of the Black Sea, just as my counterparts will hear it from me consistently, whenever I advocate for the need for a collective effort to ensure the security of this region. The Black Sea must remain at the forefront of the Euro-Atlantic agenda, much as we saw today at NATO headquarters, during a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the ambassadorial level, convened at the express request of President Nicusor Dan. Our pilots demonstrated courage and professionalism in recent days when they shot down two drones over the Black Sea. Moving forward, I and our diplomats will ensure that our Allies and EU partners stand firmly by our side, and that the security challenges we face receive full attention and an appropriate response. Furthermore, I want to assure all Romanians that our missions will always be there for them. Thank you, and we will stay in close touch!" said the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.
