The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed on Wednesday that between December 30 and January 5, 87 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered, down 44.9% compared to the previous week.
According to INSP, 24 of the new cases are in reinfected patients, tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
Between December 30 and January 5, a death caused by COVID-19 was reported.
Until now, 69,236 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
In our country, 3,582,131 cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered so far.
In the last week, 535 RT-PCR tests and 10,664 rapid antigen tests were performed. The positivity rate was 0.8%.
Up to this date, at the national level, 14,038,282 RT-PCR tests and 15,153,652 rapid antigenic tests have been processed.
