Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan praised on Sunday the pilots and military personnel involved in shooting down the drones and "strongly" condemned the Russian Federation's violation of Romanian airspace, describing it as "unacceptable."
"The recent actions of the Romanian Air Force, alongside our NATO allies, show determination and courage in defending the national territory. This is the necessary response to any threats and, specifically, to the illegal violations of airspace or maritime space. I thank the Romanian and allied pilots and military personnel involved in these actions. We strongly condemn the Russian Federation's violation of Romanian airspace, which we consider unacceptable. We must not forget that these are the consequences of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, which has been ongoing for more than four years," Bolojan underscored on his Facebook page.
A new drone was shot down on Sunday morning at 10:13 by a Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jet over Romania's territorial waters in the Sulina-Chilia area, following those shot down on Friday and Saturday.
