The President of Romania, Nicusor Dan, says that for 10-15 years there has been talk of creating an investment guarantee fund in the Republic of Moldova and that it should be created after the budget difficulties are overcome, because it would bring advantages to the Romanian economy in the future.
"In terms of investments by Romanian companies in Moldova, I think it has been 10, if not 15 years, since we have been talking about a guarantee fund for Romanian investments in the Republic of Moldova. Maybe not in the next 6-10 months, while we still have the budget difficulty, but immediately after that we have to do this", President Nicusor Dan said in Timisoara, where he participated in the Conference "Europe at the Crossroads - Security, Prosperity and Our Common Future".
He added that there is "a risk factor in making an investment in Moldova and it must be assumed by the Romanian state".
The head of state also stressed that such a measure would bring economic gain to Romania.
