President Klaus Iohannis stated, on Friday, that after Christmas the anti-COVID vaccination campaign will start, mentioning that medical personnel will be the first category immunized, and in March, April and May - the general population, according to AGERPRES.
"Everything is organized, not theoretically, but practically. Things will function and, immediately after Christmas, we will enter straight into the vaccination campaign," said the head of state, after visiting the National center for storing anti-COVID-19 vaccines with the Cantacuzino National Institute for Medical-Military Research-Development.
He showed that the first tranche of vaccines, 10,000 doses in all, will arrive in Romania after Christmas, being a symbolic tranche, Romania to receive bigger tranches, of at least 100,000 doses a week or more.
"In the first stage all the medical personnel will be vaccinated, in the second stage the essential personnel will be vaccinated and we believe that in March - April there will be the phase when the general population is vaccinated," the President emphasized.
Klaus Iohannis reiterated that vaccination is voluntary and that all vaccines are safe.
