President Klaus Iohannis sent a condolences message Sunday to his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa following the earthquake that killed more than 270 people in Ecuador.
"In these difficult moments you are experiencing, we stand next to your country, and our thoughts go to those hit by the earthquake that occurred in Ecuador. On behalf of the Romanian people, I am sending condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and I wish an easy recovery to those injured in the terrible quake," the President's message reads.
The latest death toll of the Saturday's 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Ecuador was 272 dead; President Correa announced the figure on Sunday night and said it will probably increase.
