The Romanian tennis player Jaqueline Cristian qualified, on Wednesday evening, in the quarter-finals of the WTA 125 tournament in Bari, Italy, worth 100,000 euros, after defeating the Italian Nuria Brancaccio, 6- 3 6-4.
Jaqueline Cristian (25 years old, 99 WTA), the second favorite, won after one hour and 35 minutes, agerpres reports.
The Romanian player also defeated Brancaccio (23 years old, 158 WTA) in 2019, in the first round in Palermo, 2-6 6-3 6-4.
Cristian secured a 3,478 euros cheque and 29 WTA points, and in the quarters she will face Slovakian Rebecca Sramkova (26 years old, 153 WTA), who won both direct matches in 2019, in the final of the ITF tournament from Grado, 7-6 (7/3) 3-1 (Cristian abandoned), and in 2021, in the round of 16 in Belgrade (WTA 125), 6-3 3-6 6-4.
Jaqueline Cristian will perform also in doubles, together with the German Vivian Heisen.
