T-shirts of the Argentina and Portugal national football teams signed by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo respectively are being auctioned on Friday to support the establishment of the first Museum of Sports History in Prahova County.
"At the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026, A10 by Artmark is bringing the history of world football to Bucharest in a special event at Cesianu-Racovita Palace. (...) For millions of supporters, the current World Cup represents the final appearance at this level of the two titans who have dominated world football for almost two decades. As a result, the items associated with their names - the number 7 Portugal national team T-shirt and the number 10 Argentina national team T-shirt (both framed and bearing the players' signatures) - are acquiring ever greater historical and sentimental value, going beyond the status of simple sports memorabilia," the quoted source says.
The auction, which begins at 12:00, also includes lots dedicated to the great achievements of Romanian football, recalling Romania's memorable FIFA appearances and the generations that brought the national team into the elite of international football.
From the generation of Gheorghe Hagi and the historic achievement at the 1994 FIFA World Cup to other iconic names in Romanian football, the selection brings together essential milestones of the nation's sporting memory.
"Through its charitable component dedicated to raising funds for the establishment of the first Museum of Sports History in Prahova County, the Artmark event aims to preserve and promote Romania's sporting heritage so that the achievements of great champions can also be known by future generations," the auction house said.
