A magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred on Sunday night to Monday, at 0:39, in southwestern Oltenia region, Gorj County, according to information published by the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 14 km, agerpres reports.
Since the beginning of this year, 21 earthquakes have occurred in Romania, with magnitudes between 2 and 4.5 on the Richter.
The largest quake of the previous year was recorded on May 26 and had a magnitude of 4.7. The tectonic movement was also felt in Bucharest.
