The National Bank of Romania (BNR) and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) have concluded a Collaboration Protocol in order to boost research and academic performance in the monetary-banking field, the document coming into force on December 1, 2021, informs the bank in a press release, agerpres reports.
According to the cited source, the protocol has four objectives: the elaboration, in collaboration, of research studies on common topics of interest, based on an agreed annual research plan; the development by the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, through the Department of Money and Banking within the Faculty of Finance, Insurance, Banking and Stock Exchange (FABBV) of analyses regarding the consequences of some legislative initiatives at national or European level on monetary or financial stability in Romania, analyses to be disseminated to the general public.
Another objective is the annual organization of a BNR - ASE conference, through FABBV, in April, where papers relevant to the national and European economic and financial context are to be presented. Specialists from central banks, other ASE faculties, Romanian and foreign universities, credit institutions and international financial institutions present in the Romanian banking sector, etc will be invited to deliver presentations at the conference. The protocol also aims to initiate the steps for organizing, under a BNR-ASE partnership, starting with the academic year 2022/2023, a master's program specializing in the activity of central banks, within FABBV, akin to the programs implemented at European level by other similar institutions.
