There are no Romanian nationals among the victims of the Thursday's airplane crash in India, Romania's Foreign Ministry (MAE) said on Thursday, according to preliminary information from the Romanian Embassy in New Delhi.
The Romanian Embassy in New Delhi continues to monitor the situation.
MAE reports that Romanian nationals can ask for consular assistance by calling the Romanian Embassy in New Delhi: +91 11 24111015, +91 11 24111014, +91 11 24111016, with the calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Centre for Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by call centre operators around the clock.
In case of emergency, Romanian nationals can call the emergency number of the embassy: +91 81 30303444.
The passengers included 217 adults, 11 children and two infants, a source told Reuters news agency. Of them, 169 were Indian nationals, 53 were Britons, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian, Air India said. At this moment the number of the dead is not known.
