Air traffic at Bucharest airports, as number of passengers, exceeded in the first 7 months that of the same period of 2019, when historical highs were recorded, and reached over 8.347 million passengers, says the Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB).
Between January and July 2023, 8,347,079 passengers were registered, 23 pct more than in the similar period of 2022, and 0.2 pct more than in 2019, when 8,333,725 passengers were registered, agerpres reports.
The number of aircraft movements also increased significantly compared to 2022, by 7.14 pct, to 73,168, but it remains lower than in 2019 (83,760 movements).
Bucharest Airports National Company started its activity on February 5, 2010 and ensures the operational coordination and management of the two airports of Bucharest.
CNAB was established by merging the companies that managed Bucharest airports: Henri Coanda Otopeni Bucharest International Airport and Aurel Vlaicu Baneasa Bucharest International Airport.
