In April 2025 there were 4,686,479 pensioners in Romania, 21,837 more than in the previous month, and the average pension was 2,759 RON, according to data centralized by the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP), consulted by AGERPRES.
The total value of pension rights amounted to 12.931 billion RON.
Of the total number of pensioners, 560,901 had worked in agriculture and the average pension was 674 RON.
According to CNPP statistics, the number of those who retired at the age limit was 3,756,914 people, including 2,156,378 women, while the average pension was 3,080 RON.
In April 2025, 4,631 people received an early retirement pension (average pension of 3,895 RON), 90,679 people received a partial early retirement pension (average pension of 2,737 RON) and 401,149 people received a disability pension (average pension of 1,119 RON), of whom 44,896 people received a first degree of disability pension (average pension of 972 RON).
In the same month, 433,003 people were granted a survivor's pension (average pension 1,485 RON), while 59 pensioners received social assistance (average 530 RON).
