Leader of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Arad, MEP Gheorghe Falca says that the application of sanctions, which may go as far as expulsion from the party, against Adrian Vestea and other members will be decided at the first meeting of the National Executive Bureau (BPN).
"In the first BPN meeting, the procedures for applying sanctions will begin, in accordance with the PNL Statute. The meeting could take place even today," the Arad Liberal leader told AGERPRES on Tuesday, agerpres reports.
He added that the BPN is expected to decide what sanctions will be applied to those who took part in the attempt to install the Vestea Government, with expulsion from the party a possible outcome.
"Today, the traitors are out in the open. A traitor is not someone who has a different opinion, a traitor is someone who says one thing and does another. Someone who asks for trust, but works against their own colleagues. Someone who puts personal interest above shared values and the common interest. Everyone must assume their position and the choices they have made," Gheorghe Falca added.
The PNL Extraordinary Congress adopted two resolutions on Sunday: one stipulates that party members who take part in building a Government with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) will face expulsion, while the other calls for the resignation from the PNL of Adrian Vestea, Lucian Bode, Rares Bogdan, Hubert Thuma and Alina Gorghiu.
