Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu asks the ministries to present, by the end of October, the projects for the development of digital public services that will be financed, a government press release sent to AGERPRES informs.

On Wednesday, at the Victoria Palace, prime minister Ciolacu presided over the works of the Committee for e-governance and red tape reduction (CERB), the aim of which being to prepare the portfolio of projects of public institutions for calls dedicated to e-government, the source adds.

"Until October 30, the ministries must present the projects that will be included in the financing dedicated to the development of digital public services. I want a coherent, concrete plan we can assume transparently and can implement without delay. Romania cannot progress without digitization," said prime minister Marcel Ciolacu, quoted in the aforementioned press release.

The head of government requested the presence of the ministers at the next meeting of the interministerial committee. Ciolacu emphasized that the digitization of Romania is a country project, which must be undertaken by the government team for the benefit of the citizens.

"We are investing 524 million euros for the development of electronic public services. Funds exist, the essential thing at this moment is our ability to use them effectively to improve the relationship between the citizen and the state. Today's meeting was aimed at mobilizing all administrative resources to ensure us that we don't miss this huge opportunity. Romania's big digitization projects must be implemented as quickly as possible, so that Romanians can interact with the administration at a click away,, said the minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, Bogdan Ivan.

The representatives of the government team set as priorities for the next period the transition to cloud technologies, the implementation of the single access gate for electronic public services through the use of ROeID and ensuring the interoperability of databases in a "transparent and secure" way for Romanians, the gov't release adds.
